Members of SCV Camp Moses Wood bid farewell

Pop was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Camp Moses Wood #125 (Gaffney, SC). He was a descendant of several Confederate soldiers including, Pvt. Adolphus D. Runyan, Co. D, 55th Regiment, NC Infantry Troops "The Cleveland Farmers", wounded at Petersburg; Cpl. James M. Runyan, Co. D, 55th Regiment, NC Infantry Troops "The Cleveland Farmers", killed at Gettysburg; Pvt. Jacob Runyan, Co. D, 55th Regiment, NC Infantry Troops "The Cleveland Farmers", wounded at Petersburg; Pvt. Joseph P. Runyan, Co. G, 49th Regiment of NC Troops, "The Kings Mountain Tigers", died at Point Lookout Prison Camp; Pvt. Jeremiah White, Co. I, 38th Infantry Regiment NC, "The Cleveland Marksmen," died in Petersburg; & Pvt. James Mullinax, Company F, 18th SC. Infantry Brigade, died in Charleston. Members of the Camp served as honor guards at the viewing and at the cemetery. It was a lovely and moving tribute for which we family members were & are deeply grateful.
